The canopy
Leader behaviors other people can see, for example making expectations clear or supporting the people on your team.
In development for frontline supervisors
Groundwise is a leadership self-assessment that looks at two layers: the everyday behaviors your team sees, and the foundations beneath them, such as your confidence in leading and your sense of what is within your control.
In a forest, the canopy is what you see from a distance. The understory is the growth beneath it that keeps the forest healthy. Groundwise asks about both, then places them side by side so you can reflect on how they connect.
Leader behaviors other people can see, for example making expectations clear or supporting the people on your team.
Foundations beneath those behaviors, such as how confident you feel handling leadership tasks and how much of a situation you see as within your control. You report on these directly; nothing is inferred from other sources.
